Dr. Eleanor E. Jackson

Postdoctoral Researcher, Department of Biology, University of Oxford

Hello! I’m a research scientist at the University of Oxford, where I study how tree diversity influences aboveground biomass recovery in logged tropical forests.

I hold a PhD from the Quantitative Modelling in Ecology and Evolution NERC CDT at the University of Reading, a MRes in Biodiversity, Evolution and Conservation from University College London and a BSc in Zoology from the University of Exeter.

Broadly, my interests lie in quantitative and community ecology – utilising maths and statistics to understand how species interact and coexist. I’m particularly excited by:

  • Tropical forests
  • Interactions between plants & their natural enemies
  • Species coexistence and conspecific density-dependence
  • Complex ecological data and Bayesian modelling
  • Open & reproducible science
